What I can do to help you (my specialist knowledge)

I can help you find solutions to your business problems, and suggest ways in which your business performance may be improved.

I can help you take the headache out of bookkeeping and maintaining your records

I can help you develop systems and procedures to enable your business to run more smoothly

What I do at Alexander & Co

I review all our client accounts prepared by client managers to ensure they are consistent and comply with all appropriate standards and generally accepted accounting practice (GAAP). This helps protect you by ensuring you don’t get in trouble with HMRC.

I like to have everything done “just so” – it has to be of a high standard and dealt with in a certain way and with an answer to every potential question. I ensure your accounts are prepared to our exacting standards so that you don’t have to worry about a thing; you know that you are fully compliant with the law and relevant regulations.

I also analyse your results to help us identify key improvement possibilities so that we can suggest ways in which you may be able to achieve your full business potential. I will routinely look at your business structure to consider whether this is set up in the most tax efficient manner and discuss any recommendations with you. I will compare your business with others in your industry to see if you can learn from their strengths to help you grow your business.

Fascinating Facts

One of my proudest achievements and probably the most physically demanding feat I have ever undertaken is hiking to Plateau Point on the Bright Angel Trail in the Grand Canyon. It was pretty hard work, as it is about an 8km hike down a rough & rocky path on a fairly steep decline and then a further 2.5km out to Plateau Point. It was well worth it though as the views were amazing and you won’t see anything like it anywhere in the world. The worst part was the climb back up to the rim. I nearly cried when I finally made it back.

The most money I have ever made in a single day in my life was in my student days whilst studying for my ACCA, working in a trendy city bar on 31st December 2000 (Millennium New Years Eve). It was probably one of the best New Year’s Eves I’ve ever had despite the fact I was working, plus it was a bonus to wake up on New Year’s Day minus the hangover. If you want to make money in this world then you have to grab whatever opportunities come along and make the most of them.

I can make my tongue into the shape of a clover leaf.

I’m well travelled and have visited many countries around the world – I’ve travelled across Japan on the bullet trains, I’ve been to the top of the Empire State Building (New York), I’ve been black water rafting in the Waitomo Caves (NZ), I’ve been paragliding in Queenstown (NZ), I’ve been diving off the Great Barrier Reef (Aus). I’ve also been Heli-Hiking on the Franz Josef Glacier (NZ), surfing at Surfers Paradise Beach (Aus) and I’ve walked around the base rim of Ayers Rock and camped out in the bush in Australia.
